Curiosity drives me. Writing allows me to explore the lives of people beyond the boundaries of my own world. It has fueled my wanderlust and has led me on extraordinary adventures in places both far away and close to home.
I’ve lived and worked in a half-dozen countries, writing news, features and profiles as a correspondent for Reuters and Dow Jones News Service and as a freelance journalist. My articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Miami Herald, Newsday, The Financial Times, The Wilson Quarterly, Art & Antiques Magazine and Narratively.com, among others.
Living in Britain for several decades, I worked as a visiting lecturer at Roehampton and Middlesex Universities in London, teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in journalism and narrative non-fiction writing.
On returning to Vermont in 2018, I co-founded The Story Project, a writing and design service creating tailor-made books for clients.
Curiosity remains my lodestar.
